Some practical tips and resources
The Black Dog Institute has a program for students called 'Bite Back' which has some great resources to assist you in practicing Mindfulness. For those of you who are not really familiar with what mindfulness and its benefits, you make like to check out this short video ‘Every Day Mindfulness’
Some activities you might like to try out this week are:
‘Snap That’ Photography is an awesome way to practice mindfulness. It clears your head and trains you brain to focus. Have a think about some of the things are you are grateful for or enjoy doing at the moment – take a series of photos. You may like to share a few of your images here or you may like to share your photos with your House Mentor, Head of House or Mrs Carrick.
‘Power Up’ is a set of audio tracks that will help you to chill out, calm down and get the zen-like focus you need to be at the top of your game. These audio tracks help you to practice mindfulness in a similar way to meditation, guiding you to become more calm and relaxed. Each of the tracks is about 2- 5 minutes in length and there are a variety of different guided mindful activities so you can select the one that you feel most comfortable doing – there is even one that involves eating!!
